In the spring, my thoughts turn to …
Growing Things!
MASTER GARDENER
I am a Master Gardener.
I’m certified, you know.
Instructors said I made the grade
and I can make things grow.
I am a Master Gardener.
I studied all the books
on treating soil, lawnmower oil,
and plants that you can cook.
I am a Master Gardener,
and I can show you how
to trim your shrubs, get rid of grubs,
and where to put your plow.
I am a Master Gardener.
I wear a shirt of green.
I help the pro’s at flower shows
and work behind the scenes.
I am a Master Gardener -
It’s such a scary thought.
For you can see, surrounding me,
dead plants in all my pots.

Love this poem !!!
haiku for you:
not a gardener
my thumb apparently black
plants see me and die
Happy Spring!!

I loved this!! And I too have poor dead or dying plants staring at me…LOL.
haha very cute. I’d love to take those classes. Someday.
I did this about 10 years ago, and did volunteer work with them for about a year. Learned a lot of interesting stuff…but knowing and doing are two different things!
