These are from the parade in Floyd, AR held at 10: 30 a.m. today…
Our vantage point was apparently the central gathering place – actually, the only place I’ve ever been in Floyd - Moose’s Country Store at the intersection of highways 31 and 305. The parade went down Hwy 31 so I’m sure there were other similar gatherings in other places along the route.
Floyd is an unincorporated city in rural Arkansas known for it’s 4th of July parade. You can find past parades on YouTube!
Floyd’s parade combines with equipment from nearby El Paso, Romance (my friend Shannon Vannatter writes Christian Romances often set in this small town), and RoseBud (another charming name!). To give you an idea, the 2010 census taken in Romance reflected a population of 1772. RoseBud’s is 429. There were no population figures from Floyd or El Paso available - so it looks like pretty much EVERYBODY showed up!!!
Everybody was having a good time - and here’s hoping you are enjoying this Friday, July 4, 2014 with family and friends….
Be Safe!!!!
Well, I wish your pictures were bigger so I could get the full effect! I bet that was fun. I love Uncle Sam. Who was that driving?
