Years ago there was a columnist in the Arkansas-Democrat Gazette named Richard Allin. His writings rambled about his daily life and observations, including adventures with a sheepdog named Suds ( if I remember correctly) and the small towns of Gudge Creek and Wad and the foolishness and wisdom that abounds therein.
One of the things he often referred to was the Annual Arkansas Snow-Tire-And-Daffodil Festival.
Here’s a tribute to that event -
My own daffodils are still emerging. Saving their blooms for any late ‘festival’ perhaps?
And here’s another photo shared to me by my friend, Pat Laster ( her blog is in my list at the side of this post)…
Somehow, this kind of thing just isn’t supposed to happen…does Mother Nature have a sense of humor?
Heres a few other photos from local ‘post’-ers on THV11′s web site that caught my fancy in this last week of February weather -
and one more…
I always read Richard Allin. My daffodils are holding off their blooms too.
That cactus picture is amazing!
I really enjoyed Richard Allin and Charles Albright’s columns. Thanks for reminding me of some great newspaper writers. Love the pix.
